The 'People's Liberation Army' (Chinese military) fired artillery shells to quell the Tibetan uprising in Lhasa in March 1959. By October of that year, 87,000 Tibetans in Lhasa had been killed.
This section of Xizang Zhiye contains different kinds of archived information, including writings, books, and audio/visual material. There is a plethora of information available about Tibet and the current Tibetan situation. We wish to make as much information available as possible, and, with the help of modern technology we are able to present this information in various forms, including the voice of Tibet streaming audio archive.
